Our New Orleans Adventure

Being raised in the New Orleans area and then landing in the Baton Rouge area most of my teen and young adult life - New Orleans was always there whenever we cared to visit. It was a break from the ordinary day and it was always just enough of a break. Last Sunday was the first time we brought our kids to New Orleans. We were going to try to make it to the Audubon Zoo; but after we arrived and had to walk the River Walk so we could eat lunch - and heard 3 mini moans saying "I'm too tired. I'm too hungry. My legs hurt. Hold me." We soon realized that taking the zoo off the to-do list and going to the indoor Aquarium was the best choice of all! Here is a shot of the Mississippi River Bridge in New Orleans. Something I've seen hundreds of times and there is an identical one in Baton Rouge that I've seen thousands of times. But now - it is great to have a picture of something so familiar!! Here are our 3 mini moaners after eating lunch. They quickly became adventurous again!! Is it sad that we told them this viewer was broken??! haha
WOW!! "MOM, wook at this water!!!"
The view with a River Boat - another thing I rarely see these days!
Well, I made an awful choice on our day to New Orleans. I usually do not carry a purse in NO but this time I did. Not only did I carry my purse, but I put my video camera and my camera in there! That sucker was heavy! JB often told Steve "Dad, give dat purse back to Mommy." He didn't like that Daddy was toting it. But it was a necessary thing due to my silly decision to load it up with the kitchen sink. Here is Rob on the left and Steve on the right carrying my beautiful RED bag! Rob and Steve are cousins!
The kids: Em, JB, HC and Rose. My kids LOVE seeing their cousins!

Here is a picture of my best friend from high school. Summer and I grew up together and then married into the same family - not expected since we both met our husbands way after high school. It was just how our life went!! Pretty neat story, isn't it?
Wow! Can we see NEMO yet??
This first glimpse of the Aquarium can keep you interested for quite sometime! Even though I've seen it several times - it is still amazing and pleasant to stand and watch! The kids were amazed.
Here is the way it looks without a flash on - Cool huh?!
They were feeding the fishes and we saw the stingrays everywhere!
AHHHH!!! :)
We saw a real live trolley! The kids were ready for naps and home after the Aquarium, although I really wanted to stroll around New Orleans a bit more! {frown} Oh well, it will happen next time.

There were many more pictures - between Summer and I - I believe we took over 100 shots. I didn't think you would want to see ALL of them. {smile} We pet the stingrays and a baby shark - the kids had a blast! I am glad we brought them to the Aquarium. Maybe in the fall we will try for Audubon Zoo.

Sunday was a full day - after having fun walking around New Orleans we landed at PawPaw and MiMi's house! The kids ate and swam with MORE cousins; they had fun being around family! There is nothing like having family around to hug and laugh with! I love when all the kids get together! The laughter is contagious! Day 1 on the road - done!

So glad you guys had fun! I was not quite as close as you were to New Orleans, but we use to go often...it was nice to familiar pictures! The picture of Steve with the purse was HILARIOUS!

FUN!!! :):):)
I CAN'T believe Steve was willing to carry your purse. Channing freaks out if I ask him to hold mine for two seconds while I readjust Asher on my hip...like someone really thinks it's his or something. Way to go, Steve!!! :)

Looking forward to more updates.
