My 100th Post!!

Ok, this mile marker has come upon me very quickly. Either I have a lot to say or I post too much about nothing. You be the judge. :-) Well, I decided to honor my 100th post by listing a few facts about me, in blocks of 10.

So here are 10 things I like about my blog or blogging in general:
1. I have always been big on taking photos but I slowed down a bit after my 2nd child. I took pictures of my precious ones, but not as regularly as before. So thank you blog-world, the leap into this forum provoked my desire to take pics again.
2. I love how I can keep in touch with family and friends. They can be a part of our world even though we are miles away. I only wish they had blogs so I can peer into their worlds more too.
3. I have really enjoyed meeting new bloggy-friends. Thank you for offering me a place to go and visit when I need to touch base with someone.
4. I am thankful for the moms in the bloggy-world. I am so encouraged to know I am not alone in this journey of raising world changers.
5. I am also thankful for the moms who share their wins and their losses on this journey called Motherhood. It helps to know I am not the only one who blows it from time to time.
6. I love finding recipes to spice up dinner time.
7. I love Wordless Wednesday. I love visiting other people and especially LOVE people visiting me and leaving a comment. It feels like a weekly open house.
8. I love that my husband can see and show off our family while he is away on business. It makes him feel closer to home.
9. I love the contests. I haven't won yet, but I still love them. It is fun to 'play along'.
10. I love how my blog provokes me to think out loud. I can be creative and share what is on my mind.

Ok, so 10 states I've seen, in random order:
11. Ohio
12. Louisiana
13. Bahamas - Honeymoon via a cruise
14. Tennessee
15. Kentucky
16. Georgia
17. Indiana
18. Alabama
19. Colorado
20. Florida

Now, 10 silly things I did as a teenager:
21. I learned to drive a stick shift and popped the clutch like crazy as my parents hung out of the window yelling "Help us - student driver".
22. My friends and I used to write "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon" on a piece of paper and honk and let the car next to us read our sign at red lights.
23. The first guy I kissed - well the first kiss ever, my dad opened the door forgetting I was on a date and we quickly went our separate ways in humiliation. That was an awkward goodbye.
24. Summer, my best friend in high school, and I had a vendetta with some guys and their moms gave us access to their rooms. So we stuffed all their shoes with toilet paper and took shredded paper and put it in their bed. I know - soooo dangerous. haha
25. I have countless pictures of me and my friends from high school Vogueing.
26. My friend Summer and I wrote poems our senior year. They were in dedication to our friend and drum major in band. He always read silly poems he wrote at the end of the football games, so we countered his poems with rifts on him. We had a real good time with that. Again, rebels - I know.
27. I think it was my freshman year, after football games our local radio station would take calls. We called in when our team won and left messages to the opposing team. We were really a dangerous crew.
28. We went to Burger King every afternoon after school because it was across the street. We had rehearsal after school so this helped us make it through practices.
29. Our buddies, the ones we 'fought' with, they would always take the salt/pepper shakers and put them in Summer's purse. She NEVER knew until she got home. She was fun!
30. We broke (well, not into the church but into the area that led to the roof) into the church across the street from our high school to climb on the roof when we were wanting a little adventure.
Ok 10 Nicknames I've had:
31. Eula Mae - thanks to my dad
32. Song of the Morning - thanks to my dad
33. Sugar Bear - thanks to my husband
34. Mel - thanks to those too lazy to say my name - Melodye. :)
35. Melwee - thanks to my son learning to speak
36. Mommy - thanks to HC and JB
37. Seister - thanks to my brother and my sister
38. Aunt Mel - thanks to nieces and nephews
39. Dodi - thanks to my siblings learning to say my name.
40. Jesus - thanks to my Uncle Doug placing me on a table, in the cafeteria when he was in college (when I was preschool age), and telling me to say my name is Jesus when people would ask me. Of course he told them to ask me my name.

10 Music Artists I've liked over the years:

62. Big hair, you know mall bangs. That was me.
63. I had a sort of 'baby on board' sign in our car but it referred to my high school team.
64. 'NOT'. Another brilliant term. NOT!!
65. Denim Jacket - um, who didn't
66. Penny Loafers - you know I had these!
67. Tight Stone Washed jeans - yikes
68. Over sized shirts/sweaters - WITH shoulder pads. Duh!!
69. Guess Jeans baby!! :)
70. Yes, I did it - I folded the bottoms of my pants/jeans. It was tight too!! I also have to admit to wearing .... scrunchies.

The last 10! I hope this wasn't painful for you to read!!
Ok, 10 things I love about being a Mommy:
91. Seeing the world again through their eyes.
92. Teaching them the ways of God.
93. The hugs, oh the hugs and sweet kisses!
94. Hearing them sing and laugh! Especially when it is spontaneous.
95. Watching them eat ice cream. It is so much fun when it drips down their chin.
96. The smell of them after a bath. Yummy!
97. Watching them treat each other with kindness - unprovoked.
98. When people enjoy them when we are out. You know, when the onlooker doesn't think you notice them smiling at your baby.
99. I LOVE rocking them!! We don't rock them to sleep but just a few minutes before bedtime.
100. I love hearing them talk about what is on their mind. HC's new thing is 'I've got a great idea....' and JB "Ok, I will". Love it!!
Whew! I don't know how many of you will read all 100 but I did it!! I wasn't going to but I decided I would celebrate this milestone whether anyone read this or not!!

Mel, congrats on your 100th post! Mine passed me by before I even realized it!

I DID read every single thing on your list and I swear, I think we were the same person in high school! TOO FUNNY!

I love the B-52's and can sing every word of Love Shack! It's the ringtone on my phone when my Hubby calls! ;-)

I also was glued to the tv whenever Knots Landing was on. Karen, Val, Abby, OH MY WORD! There was NO BETTER drama on TV! I miss it!

By the way, my son is Drum Major for his high school band.

So glad we have become friends through this bloggy world! What's even better is that you're practically my neighbor and I know we'll be able to meet someday soon!

By the way, I tagged you tonight. (Yeah, I know---I still have returned the tag from your post before I went on vacation!)

Love ya!

Of course I read it, silly, I mean Melodye - very pretty name!

I'm not sure I know you're age, but I'm guessing it is close to mine (soon 32) because all the songs and shows were what I listened to and watched. Even the fads - gotta love the shoulder pads and rolled jeans!!

So, if you visit historical sites in PA - you're gonna take time to come visit me, too, right?

Great list - I'm glad you did it.

Congratulations! You have a lot to say and people enjoy reading it, that is a compliment. Have you been thinking about this list since the first post? That is about how long it would take me to come up with all of this!

Props to Uncle Doug! Getting you to tell folks that your name was Jesus must have been priceless!

When my nephew was barely talking, I told him to tell people that the voices in his head made him do it. It stuck a little too long & I got in trouble! :-)

Oh yeah, I forgot...

Happy 100!!!!

Hi there! I came for a visit after Tracey's recommendation. I picked a great day to come too since I got to know a little bit about you through your list of 100. I really enjoyed my visit and I see why Tracey recommended it.
