I Believe God!

I started the Beth Moore study, Believing God, Monday and she made a point that I thought was worth sharing. She was talking about how God wants good things for us here and now. But at times we miss all God has for us. There are times we get distracted with a taste of what God sends us and we stay there thinking we have arrived.

She gave an example of walking her dog. Her dog found a rain puddle and was thrilled with this find. Her dog jumped and splashed and was not interested in moving on. She knew there was a pond just over the next hill and her dog was staying to play in a puddle. He could have splashed and played in a large pond but he settled for the puddle. That is what God sees with us at times. He has this great pond and we are stuck celebrating the puddle. It is great to be content and thankful but what are we believing?? Do we believe God has good things in store for us?? Do we really believe He still heals?? Do we really believe He is our provider or do we think it is our job to fight our way to the top? What do we believe, without doubt, about God and His Word?

We know God has heaven waiting for us, but what about here and now? Do we believe God has good things in store for us here?? Why don't we see more miracles?? Why are we not seeing God's power more evident in our daily lives??? Are we TRULY believing God?? Do we REALLY believe what God's Word says?? This is only week one and I am ready for many more revelations than this. I cannot wait to see what I am doing to limit God in my life, so I can learn and grow. I want my life to SHINE for him. Not in such a way as to draw attention to me, but so that others will see a difference in my life and be drawn to Him. I am ready to get Caught in the Act of Believing God for the promises He has given me, and my family!

These are the 5 Statements of Faith I am learning, I welcome you to join me!
1. God is who He says He is!
2. God can do what He says He can do!
3. I am who God says I am!
4. I can do all things through Christ!
5. God's Word is alive and active in me!

I am believing that my God is able and will do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ask or think!! I Believe God!

Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him!!

Just love Beth! I can just hear her repeating those five statements.
Great post Melodye. These are the things we all need to ask ourselves and search our spirit to be in line with the Word.
I, too, believe God!

I love Beth Moore bible studies.
They are so good. I haven't done that one yet, but have done a few others of hers.
Right now I am doing a Women of Faith Bible Study called Managing your Moods. It is a good one too.

In regards to your comment on my blog: I agree Megan is a little to smart for her breeches. I couldn't believe she would come up with that one. I'm going to have the flu at preschool tomorrow. Haha funny child.

Oh, I needed to be reminded of these 5 statements! Believing God has been my favorite Bible Study so far! Awesome post, Melodye.

OH AMEN sister. I did Believing God a couple years ago, and like every Beth Moore study I've done, this one was pivotal in my walk with Christ. I just started A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place on Monday night too! I am also leading worship for the ladies, so it's a busy night, but will be awesome, I know. Keep sharing what the Lord's doing in your life!

Wow - sounds like a great book. I have yet to read a Beth Moore book, but it is a goal for sure. I love those 5 statements. I might write them by my sink.

Mel - what a terrific post. I'm glad I am finally getting over here to read this. I hope you'll post every week so I can just get these glimpses of what you're learning! Did I tell you our church is offering her Daniel study Wed evenings in Jan? Now I just need to make sure I can get my babysitting issues taken care of on the off nights of our church Bible study nights (1st and 3rd wed) I so hope it'll work!

Channing and I did this study when i was pregnant with Tristan, and it was WONDERFUL! I had forgotten about the statements of faith. I need to do that study again!! Enjoy! And, if you haven't done it yet...try "A Woman's Heart...God's Dwelling Place" by Beth Moore. In a word, it's INCREDIBLE!!!
