My Health Challenge Results

Last week I decided to try something new. I decided to try and go from zero intake of water to 32 ounces a day. I decided to go from zero effort of increased heart rate to 90 minutes per week. Here is how I did:

Day 1 - Friday (Aug 31st) I had a super evil headache that kept me in bed most of the day. I did drink about 16 oz of water but no exercise.

Day 2 - Saturday (Sept 1st) I was still recovering from slight headache and had some water (not enough though). No exercise, although we DID walk around a shopping center. But I didn't get that heart rate up. {Sigh}

Day 3 - Sunday I drank 16 oz of water. We were active, at the park, but I didn't focus on keeping my heart rate up for any length of time.

Day 4 - Monday I drank 32 + ounces of water. YIPPEE!! We walked around the subdivision for about 30 minutes. 2 BIG YEAHS!!

Day 5 - Tuesday I drank 16 oz, no exercise.

Day 6 - Wednesday I drank 24 oz of water, some elevated heart rate - not for a set time though.

Day 7 - Thursday I didn't feel like even thinking about this today! Sorry, but it was true! 2 thumbs down for me, from me.

I didn't succeed every day but I did make progress. I am not a big water drinker, although my kids drink only water. Sprite is their treat when we are out. Baby steps. I plan to keep this up. Increasing my water intake and getting to the 90 minutes of exercise per week. Did anyone make efforts towards more healthy living? Your goals may be different than mine, but I am interested in hearing how you've done too!

I am not a big water drinker either but God (ever so kindly) illuminated to me that I DO NOT drink enough water. Even while I am nursing, I really should drink more. People say if you drink more your body will want more.....I haven't reached the "drink more" yet!! I'll be watching your health challenge results.

I caved, but tomorrow I will begin anew!

Its progress not perfection, just realize when you are not used to this new lifestyle your mind and body will want to do it the "old" way... We are retraining our minds and physical being to becoming more healthy...Baby steps we can do it and I know you can too, thanks for visiting my blog and with words of encouragment much appreciated. I will keep coming back and seeing how you are doing.....
