Daddy's Home

(HC and Daddy - there are pics of Daddy with the kids on the mantle too.)

In our house the announcement "Daddy's home" is a moment of utter joy for Mommy and Kiddos. To HC, this announcement leads to such joy, she cannot contain it. She gets a jolt of adrenalin that is a site to see. She jumps up, frantic, to find a proper hiding place. HC can sit quietly and wait to be found. The momentum building and the giggles getting louder by the minute as Daddy approaches. She hears Daddy call, 'HC where are you?', and this sends shrill giggles through her soul!!

This brings back memories of earlier days where she and JB would stand at our window singing "Daddy where are you?" They knew he was due home soon because 'Dr. Feeul' was over and Oprah was on. Oprah always sends my daughter into hiding. haha She knows Daddy is soon to arrive.

So my JB has another response, he cannot wait. He hides for a milli-second to only jump out and run, full speed ahead, to jump into his arms. Usually he cannot even take hiding. He must stand at the door, shouting 'Daddy, Daddy, Daddy'. He requires an immediate hug and to be held. He repeats 'Daddy' with a chuckle that only he can do!! It is a great moment for us all!!

(JB and 'CooCoo' aka CoaCoa hiding.)

I love their joy and adoration of Daddy. I love that he thrills them. He is their hero and protector. He is a SuperHero!! He is (cue the super hero music) Daddy!!!

precious pictures!

I'm just checking in...it's been a while since I've really been able to get online and visit all my bloggy friends.

I hope all is well with you Mel. I think we're trying to plan a bloggy get-together in B'ham sometime in November. Interested?

I'll try to do better about visiting! I'm loving all your pictures you've posted lately and on your sidebar too.

Have a great week!

GO DAWGS! Sic 'em!

(Congrats to your Tigers by the way)

Love ya!
Tracey

Ah, yes. My son can hardly contain his excitement when his daddy comes home -- from a long trip or from a day at work. It's so much fun to watch them.

So sweet. I love it that they so love their daddy. My Lindsey is still very much a daddy's girl. He will always be her hero and she is 24 years old :)

I always try to watch for HH to pull into the driveway, so that I can pick the Wog up and hold him up to the window panes in the door. He likes to mash his face against the glass. He giggles uncontrollably at the sight of his daddy. HH says that no matter how stressful his day was, the minute he sees that cackling little boy, with his face mashed into the window, he can't be stressed anymore!
