We went on a little family adventure Saturday and had a lot of fun. My husband has a few offices in Sumiton and his team participated in the local Frog Festival. This was our first time to attend this festival and we really did not know what to expect. Being from Louisiana we have attended many local festivals, but never one boasting of frogs.
So our adventure began - find the frogs. You cannot tell a 2.5 year old and a 4 year old that you are taking them to a frog festival, unless there are confirmed sightings of frogs at the festival. I guess we assumed too much by the festival's name.
The kids had fun jumping in the Nemo Space Walk, after a little tumbling at a different booth.
Jumping for frogs!!
Then the questions began again, 'Mom, where are the frogs? Are there any frogs here??'. Ugh!!
Still on the hunt for frogs.

These were the only frogs we found at this 'festival'. I enjoyed our time there, the kids and hubby had fun too. I think the event was more like a craft show than a festival. The people were SO VERY nice and the atmosphere was fun. It was truly a family fun event. We are glad we went, but now we know - don't tell the kids about the frogs unless you see them for yourself. Live and learn!!
Isn't this fall, Mom??? It was hot!!
My son does NOT like sno cones. He loves to eat ice but would not eat this sno cone for us. How can a child not like sno cones or ice cream??? I just don't get it!!
HC loves trying new things and was eager to sit in the great big Fire Truck.
JB had to be coaxed and held, but at least he tried it!! They were both way tired at this point!

So funny! No frogs...what a shame! False advertisement! ;)
JB is the first kid I've ever heard of who doesn't like sno cones. Tell him I'll eat his next time! ;)
Annie
You are right Annie - False Advertising all the way! Not a festival and NO frogs!! Glad we didn't pay for tickets!! haha
So funny that there were no actual frogs there! It looks like fun though!
I am sooooooo loving that t-shirt! You didn't even have a frog for a giveaway - haha! just teasing!
Looks like you all had a great time. I love the pictures of the kids taking turns pushing!
Our town has a 'fair' this week - but its not called a fair - its a 'farm show' and the farm truly is there - smells and all!!!!
i guess you just assume there will be frogs! there is watermelon at the watermelon festival, jambalaya at the jambalaya festival, shrimp at the shrimp festival. they must have things mixed up over in alabama! :)
love the fall look!
tallie
In all fairness Tallie, this was NOT a state sponsored 'festival'. It was a small town event. It had such a great small town feel but no frogs and no festival. (smile) They did great for a small town.
Oh I could just hear my kids begging to see the frogs. I could just imagine the confusion in their little minds.
Poor H & J, how unfair :( Somethings just do not make sense when you are little.
That is too funny.
Why call it a frog festival then???? HMMN?
It looks like they had a good time anyway.
