HC makes the cut!

Yesterday evening I was trying to pack a few things while the kids were playing quietly in their room. My daughter heard me bang something and was concerned I was coming into her room. So she opened her door and said 'Mom, do not come in my room. I need private.' So you know I went into her room and found this on the floor.

My daughter cut her hair and the 'hair' of one of her stuffed animals. I was surprised, but worried about where the gap was in her hair, and after much inspection I finally found where she made the cut.Not too bad! I am so thankful it wasn't worse. These scissors have rested in the drawer of her diaper change table since she was an infant. I forgot they were there. Needless to say they are gone now. I can see there are several things that will be removed from this drawer, since they've decided to explore! It is amazing what places we forget to purge once our kids are old enough to dig.
HC found her adventurous bug it seems! At least the clean up wasn't too bad!!

Oh Amanda makes a good point! I think these kids need more supervision - totally kidding - I am of the same philosophy - if they are playing quietly, let them play and get some things done!
And yes, it wasn't at a bad spot - this has been a good reminder to think about what is within Elle's reach. Thanks!

Oh not so bad. Jen cut hers right at the root in the front of her head while sitting on the top of my frig. I was on the phone with a friend. I took the scissors and placed them up high so she couldn't get them. She climbed like a monkey, cut the bangs and sat smiling. A few years later she cut the fur off the cat and the whiskers on a different day.

I was a really good mom. I promise!

I thought I would add that the diapers are for little brother! :)

HC is potty trained! And don't you just love the expression on her cheetos covered face??!!

I know this will happen eventually! I hope it will be like that. She didn't do too much damage! Of course, I guess the stuffed animal's hair won't grow back. :)

It was bound to happen. Seems like you hear this story more and more often these days. My daughter did it when she was three. She had pig tails in and cut one almost in half. I didn't even know it until my niece came over to visit and asked why there was hair in the sink?! YIKES!! Thankfully Lacee has curly hair and you couldn't noticed that bad. After a few weeks we eventually had it cut to even it all out. Silly girls.....I did it too. I also cut all the barbies hair. Darling kiddos you have!

OY! I remember when my oldest DD did that, it wasn't so bad. and your DD doesn't look so bad either.

God Bless,

What a surprise you were in for! Like you said, it could have been much worse! Kids certainly keep us on our toes, don't they!? Haha!

Oh my! It doesn't look like she did too bad of a job, though! Just a smidge of layering!

On a similar note, The Wog kindly brought me a pair of scissors that I left on the coffee table yesterday. EEGADS!! He tries his darnedest to help me be a good mommy!
