We had a first this past Tuesday! I took the kids bowling with some friends. HC and JB had a blast!! I must admit I wasn't sure how it would go since I was going it alone with my two. They surprised me with their focused interest in the game. They played 9 frames of bowling without a blink. Ok, so they DID bowl down the wrong lane a few times and they DID think it was their turn after their friend had one shot, but other than that they were a dream. HC started a little farther back than she needed but she still was an awesome bowler. HC was less than thrilled when she found out she had to wear these shoes. I managed to convince her that the shoes were special and helped her bowl. Gotta love her consideration for style. :)
My son would shout 'Score' and throw his hands in the air after the pins fell. He loved every minute of our bowling adventure!
Overall, they played a decent game considering it WAS there first game ever!! Can you believe they have bowling shoes in their sizes?? I thought they were precious!!
It was a hot, gloomy and muggy day on Tuesday. We were glad to have a new indoor activity to try. Bowling was fun but I did get quite a workout since I too bowled, in squat form, 4 times per frame. I left there tired from a non-stop run, chasing down my son because he took the ball when it wasn't his turn, or if it was his turn - redirecting him to the right lane. I think we may have annoyed a few bowlers, while others had a good laugh at 5 moms taking 8 toddler/preschool aged kids bowling. I left the bowling alley realizing we now have a family outing to try. This can be a great activity for us at night so they can share this new fun with dad too. Plus, I must admit that I would like to take a break between frames every now and then!

I've been thinking about taking the children bowling too! We might give it a try!!
How fun!
Do your kids always look like they've stepped out of a Land's End for Children catalog??? Could they be any more precious?!
Glad y'all had fun!
How fun! I still get a kick out of bowling, even when I throw gutter ball after gutter ball. :)
The pictures are great! SO cute how she started so far back! And I agree about the shoes - we need to bring some fashion to bowling!!
You do forget what good exercise it can be! Those balls aren't light!
Glad you had fun!

A great idea - something we haven't tried yet.
I'm sorry to tell ya, I couldn't get the pictures to upload this morning - you'll just have to believe me that it is built! ;)
Oh, and I started a 'practice' blog that I kept private to practice my changes on before I brought them to my main blog. Just an idea!
Have a great Monday!
how much fun! you have now convinced me that i need to bring my crew. we have free passes, we just haven't braved it yet. you are my inspiration!
Very beautiful pictures!Your blog is really nice and I enjoyed to read it!
Greetings,Steffi ;O)
How fun! I love bowling. And you're right--they did pretty good! Last time I went bowling, I only got a 110!
Looks like they had a blast. It is so neat how they can actually pick up such a heavy ball and manage to slowly get it down the lane.
Blessings
I had the same thought Linda! I was surprised they could manage them, we found a 6lb ball. There were a few times the ball was bowled (lightly pushed) down the lane and 10 minutes later it hit the pins. We took a break during that one! haha
How funny! We took Matthew bowling for the first time this Saturday. He loved it and lasted through almost two games until he spotted the arcade and wanted to race cars. We had a great time.

We still love bowling as a family. The guys love the competition and us girls just love to be silly. It's fantastic family time. Great way to start your kids early on just having fun!
Wow! I'm impressed! Do they really have lighter (bowling) balls made for toddlers?
The pictures are awesome and your kids are so cute!!
Bowling is so much fun!!
Oh, bowling is my favorite! I cannot wait to take the Wog. It looks like you guys had a blast!
Oh what FUN! Glad you all had a good time!
God Bless,
Amber
