We have had a few weeks of frustration in our world lately. I feel like we are being 'picked' to pieces. One thing goes wrong and we fix it to only find another little thing go wrong. I first noticed this new pattern when I was in the dumps for no good reason. I recovered from that sticky place with prayer. The very next week my husband was away on a business trip. He came home to a broken air conditioner. Thankfully we do not own this home. (We know there is a possibility for another move so we didn't feel we should buy again just yet.)
After a long hot weekend without air conditioning we had our A/C fixed the following Monday morning. We were thankful for our world being normal again, but the A/C guy advised us that the A/C would break again. The builder of our home used an outdated A/C and will likely need to be replaced entirely. We thought we would make it through the remaining hot days without further worry and were glad that was done. Oh, our landlord was in Taiwan while this happened and it was nearly impossible to contact her. Thankfully, after emails, going to her home and leaving a note, texting, she finally called us back. Anyway, we thought we were good to go until she returned.
Monday we had just returned home from one of our Small Groups at Church and I looked out of my window to see a red object lying on the ground behind my van. It was the rear tail light cover. It just fell off. I cannot figure that one out still. We tried to reattach it and it fell off again. It is currently in my trunk.

Yesterday afternoon my daughter woke from her nap with one of the worst round whelp like marks on her bottom that I have ever seen. It covered her entire butt cheek and she was miserable. I took a picture of it because I was so startled by it, but I cannot share that with you. I can't expose her little heine for all to see!! No matter how many gasps it would bring. :) It just isn't right. I digress, well I called the pediatrician and they told me to bring her in today. They also warned me that Staph is going around and for my daughter not to touch her bottom at all. By this time her other butt cheek was covered too. They prescribed benadryl and to have her checked today.
We woke this morning to no mark on her bottom at all and she had a slight mark on her arm too. All marks were now gone. Praise God!! I now think it was allergy related but we have no idea what triggered this episode. We have done nothing different. We didn't go anywhere that she would have touched anything odd. We were home all day Wednesday. So, whew - that was done. Praising God for whatever it was because we do not know.
(This picture is from today. Her afternoon nap left her with another milder rash. It must be her bedding, although it didn't bother her last night.)
So, last night our A/C went out AGAIN. Guess what, landlord is still in Taiwan. She has all of her phones turned off so we cannot communicate with her. Once again, after jumping through many hoops we finally contact her. Right now the A/C man is working on our A/C and it looks like they will need to replace the entire unit. It is hot still people.
Pray for us. I know this isn't our home and we are not out of this expense, but it is still happening to us. We are experiencing the frustrations, we are experiencing the pain of it all. I am just tired of fighting one little thing after another; to only find it is a kahuna big thing in the end. We are blessed, we are highly favored, we are the head and not the tail! It is hard to keep this in the forefront of our minds when we keep getting kicked, once we get up from the last dilemma.
I know we do not have it bad. In fact a close friend is having a worse time than I am. Her son goes into surgery tomorrow at 9 AM for ulcerative colitis. Her son is in Kindergarten and has had miserable health. SHE has it bad. (Her son's name is John L. - pray for him!!!!) This is a follow up surgery from his surgery this summer. They are making it so that he can have bowel movements again, although the diagnoses is he will never have normal bowels. I know God can fully heal her son so that his bowels are normal AND without any discomfort! I do have perspective, I know my life isn't that bad. I am just tired of one thing after another. It can be exhausting. I feel like there is a water faucet over our heads just dripping on us constantly. Nothing awful, just constantly aggravating us. So send up a prayer for us when you get a minute!! We are not discouraged or downcast - just ready for things to go our way!!
Much blessing,
Melodye
